Top Diamond Manufacturers to Test GIA Tag

Blue Star, SRK and Dharmanandan have joined with the GIA in the world’s first RFID pilot using SpaceCode’s patented LED RFID GIA TagTM used for automatic intake and sorting of diamonds at GIA. The companies have been using RFID in their local manufacturing operations for three years and are now confident to implement RFID at the GIA in order to facilitate intake and sorting and speed up the grading process.
The Blue Star Diamonds group was established in Mumbai in 1966 and is one of the world’s top diamond manufacturers and traders and a DTC sightholder. In 2009, the group became the first and one of the largest contract holders with the Russian mining giant, ALROSA.
Headquartered in Mumbai, Dharmanandan Diamonds was established in the 1980s and operates an extensive diamond and jewellery network in its home city as well as Hong Kong, Belgium and the USA It is also a DTC sightholder.
