Professor Francesco Stellacci - Technology Advisor
Francesco Stellacci is Constellium Professor and Head of the Supramolecular Nanomaterials and Interfaces Laboratory at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL).
Francesco completed a doctorate in materials engineering from the Politecnico di Milano in 1998. He continued his post-doctorate studies at the University of Arizona before joining the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2002 as an assistant professor. In 2010 he moved to the Institute of Materials at EPFL in Lausanne as a full professor.
Francesco has received several awards for his work at MIT and was listed in 2005 in the Technology Review as one of the "Top 35 Innovators under 35", and named in 2007 among the "Brilliant 10" by Popular Science Magazine.
Dan McCurdy - Intellectual Property Advisor
Dan McCurdy is currently senior vice president at RPX, overseeing data initiatives. From 2008 through June 2014, he was CEO of Allied Security Trust, and Chairman and CEO of PatentFreedom, now a subsidiary of RPX Corporation.
Previously, Dan was founding CEO of ThinkFire; president of the Intellectual Property Business of Lucent Technologies; a vice president of IBM responsible for the creation of its Life Sciences business unit; a vice president of Ciena Corporation where he directed merger, acquisition and corporate development; a director of Business Development for IBM Research; and manager of Technology and Intellectual Property Policy for IBM worldwide.
Dan graduated summa cum laude from the University of North Carolina. He served on the Intellectual Property Policy committee of the United States' National Academies. In 2011, he was named "CEO of the Year" by Intellectual Property magazine, and in 2014, was named one of the 40 most influential "movers and shakers" in IP transactions and acquisitions by Intellectual Asset Magazine.
Dr. Craig Richard Cook - Healthcare Advisor
Craig Cook has more than 15 years' international experience in the pharma, biomedical and high technology sectors including roles across a range of therapeutic areas, such as neurology, inflammatory, immunology, and endocrine, covering both drug development and medical affairs. He has established and led several healthcare initiatives, and held increasingly senior appointments at Johnson & Johnson, Eli Lilly, Novartis Pharma, and Serono Biotech.
Craig co-founded SpaceCode with Pavlo Protopapa and served as CEO until 2013. He is a qualified physician, has a BSc in Pharmacology, Diploma in Anaesthesiology, and MBA from the London Business School. He joined Midatech in 2014 as Chief Operating and Chief Medical Officer.
Telma Viale - Organisational Development Advisor
Telma Viale was Human Resources Director at the International Labour Organization (ILO) and went on to become the ILO's Special Representative to the United Nations. As part of the SRI Executive team, she has led searches for positions such as the Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Director of Climate, Energy and Land Tenure for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). She also led the search for ASG and director-level positions for UN Women, UNICEF, Agence Francaise de Développement (AFD), and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
During her 20 years of international public service, Telma has worked in the USA, Switzerland, Afghanistan, Mozambique, Italy and Denmark. As a result, she is well versed in the complexities of international organisations, talent management challenges and the political context in which organisational change is created.
A graduate of Columbia University, Telma holds a master's degree in organisational psychology with a focus on organisational change and consultation. A former US National Science Foundation scholar, she continues her involvement in the field of organisational psychology through writing and participating actively in seminars and panels at an international level.
Telma is fluent in five languages.
