Press Release, May 18, 2016, New York: RFID track-and-trace company SpaceCode is pleased to announce its sponsorship of the IMOCA Ocean Masters New York-Vendée Race as the presenting partner alongside Currency House, an online Forex broker specializing in trader education. Starting on May 29th, 2016 from Downtown New York, this single-handed sprint across the Atlantic to Les Sables D’Olonne, France, promises to be an exciting warm-up and qualifier for the 2016 Vendée Globe in November.

The Vendée Globe is the only non-stop solo round-the-world race, taking place every four years. With seven IMOCA60s fitted with innovative foil technology the race is eagerly anticipated by yacht racing fans around the world. They will be able to follow the progress of the fleet during each of the races using the online race tracker which will be available on IMOCA Ocean Masters’ website for all of the preliminary events on the 21st and 27th of May, as well as for the transatlantic race from New York to France on May 29th.
On May 21st, the boats will race overnight from Newport, Rhode Island, to New York as part of the SpaceCode prologue race, and will arrive in IGY North Cove Marina at Brookfield Place, Downtown Manhattan, from Sunday, May 22nd. The fleet will compete on Friday, May 27th in the Currency House New York-Vendée Charity Race on the Hudson River, with the winning boat receiving a $5,000 cheque to be donated to the charity of their choice. The New York-Vendée Race, which is the 4th leg of the IMOCA Ocean Masters World Championship 2015-2016, will start at 11 a.m. (EST) on Sunday, May 29th.
