The objectives of SpaceCode technology strategy and development from the outset has been two fold:
- To achieve a mandatory non negotiable 100% accuracy threshold for all our commercial business solutions. No products are launched unless this accuracy threshold is achieved – no compromises.
- To do this for difficult RFID applications where others have failed ie where items are juxtaposed, irrespective of the presence of metal or liquids, in random orientation. We do not want to impose any constraints or changes on our customers to ensure 100% accuracy – that is the SpaceCode systems responsibility, not our customers.
- To achieve this took the best part of 10 years development by our leading engineers and scientists to develop the 'SpaceCode Way', which comprises the following components:
- Communications protocol and algorithm SpaceCode pioneered the development of octal/binary tree search methodology applied in the SpaceCode solutions, which is used for communication between the tag and reader in a deterministic anti collision algorithm. The algorithm is formulated to achieve essential performance parameters including guaranteed ability to ensure that all tags in the interrogation volume will be detected with 100% accuracy
- Chip IC technology SpaceCode chip technology is designed using power efficient non tuned tags thus not needing to rely on only one 'resonant' or 'tuned' frequency. In addition, all chip communications are in phase, meaning that signal reply strength from the tag to the reader is maximized for optimal tag detection.
- Physics (LF) Physics cannot be invented – it can only be harnessed. SpaceCode has done exactly that by selecting the frequency that is least affected by the surroundings, and that least interferes with the surroundings – thus ensuring maximum reliability and accuracy and utility. Magnetic induction ensures a dense, homogenous field that can be well defined in terms of read range, and that is not adversely affected by metal and liquids.
